Mihaela MARAVELA specializes in intellectual property, a field in which she has acquired a broad experience both in advising, as well as in representing clients in pre-litigation or litigation stages, in disputes deriving from rights vested by trademarks, copyrights or inventions.
She has been included by the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) in the list of arbitrators (panellists), a capacity in which she settled various disputes relating to internet domain names.
She successfully represented clients in disputes settled either by state courts, or by arbitral tribunals, in the fields of intellectual property or business law. She is experienced in the field of international commercial arbitration, in particular in proceedings before ICC Paris, but also investment proceedings, before the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes of Washington.
She also has relevant experience in the area of international financing, syndicated loans, revolving financing facilities, or internal financing, including the corresponding securities.
Between 2007 and 2011, Mihaela was the national representative of Romania in the Compendium of Consumers’ Laws Project, coordinated by the European Institute of Legal Studies, Osnabruck University of Germany.
She has graduated the Faculty of Law of Bucharest University (2003) and is a member of the Bucharest Bar Association (2005).
She is fluent in English and an intermediate user of German and French.
